Let's Go is a probably unfinished song by New Order. Originally composed for Low-Life, it was later remade for the Salvation! soundtrack as an instrumental. Let's Go has several versions with drastic differences.

Let's Go's first released version was to the Salvation! soundtrack as an instrumental. While the movie only used 2 minutes of it, those two minutes were released to Retro's limited edition bonus disc as "Let's G...". The full, almost four minute, version also appears on the 2008 Collector's Edition of Low-Life.

Let's Go (Nothing For Me) is probably the most well-known and most finished version of the song. It's the same (or a very similar) instrumental to the Salvation! version, though it has lyrics now. Releasing to The Best of New Order in 1994. NewOrderOnline says this version of the song was originally called “I Don’t Care”. It was also a promo single from that album the next year, revealing that this version is produced by Arthur Baker, and rerecorded by him and Sumner (likely in 1994) for the 2nd track of his remix of 1963.[1] Note that the band was separated at this point, if they weren't then it's likely the instrumental would've been remade as well. This version was later released to Retro's second disc. The promo single does not fade out, while both album versions do. There are multiple demos of this version, that have the same lyrics but were recorded closer to Salvation!'s release date.[2] There are also slightly different versions of this one alone, with Retro's version having a little synth effect, similar to the end of album version of Round & Round, around 2 minutes in before quickly stopping. All other versions of the song don't seem to feature that.

The Low-Life version of the song is lesser-known, but it's likely the first incarnation of the song. Supposedly even taking The Perfect Kiss' place in the album's tracklist at one point. This version has separate lyrics to Nothing For Me. An instrumental of this version was officially released of the 2023 Definitive edition of Low-Life. This version was also played live at least once, at the Manhattan Club in Belgium in 1985, again without lyrics. Due to the different chorus of this version, it's been conjecturally titled "Let's Go (Waiting For So Long)". It's possible, due to their similar instrumental and lyrical meter, that Let's Go (Waiting For So Long) was left off of Low-Life due to its similarity to the song Sooner Than You Think. The drums from this version are similar to that of Transmission's.

A version of the song was released to the French version of International. This version is currently unknown though with the French version of International being fairly rare. It's most likely some version of Nothing For Me.

The band Joi Noir covered Nothing For Me, releasing a music video on April 5th 2020.

Lyrics[]

You know it never meant much to me
There's something on your mind that I couldn't see
It didn't hurt me too much to find
You were seeing someone else for all of this time
You know that I don't care
And I'd like you to know that I don't care
I don't need your sympathy
Why don't you ever look at me?

You did nothing for me
You did nothing I see
You did nothing for me
You did nothing

There's no today and there's no tomorrow
Where you find sadness I find sorrow
Nobody knows but it always shows
I think I'm losing my mind but that's the way that it goes
And it's fine, all those lies
I can see the truth lies in your eyes
So i guess we are through
You did to me what I did to you

You did nothing for me
You did nothing I see
You did nothing for me
You did nothing

You did nothing for me
You did nothing I see
You did nothing for me
You did nothing

Find the heat that burns your heart
Broken lines and broken journeys
Someone told me I was wrong
Then again, I’ve heard some stories

Waiting for so long
Oh, I've been waiting for a chance to see you
Waiting for so long
Oh, I've been waiting for a chance…

You remember where we've been
You can be my alter ego
Are you sure what this could mean?
I never thought that we might be so

Waiting for so long
Oh, I've been waiting for a chance to see you
Waiting for so long
Oh, I've been waiting for a chance to see you

Though we you took just what we need
You can't keep your wings of glory
Open up and you will bleed
Would you try it here before me?
As this song falls into place
There must be an answer somewhere
Feel the rain upon your face
I just need to know that you care

Waiting for so long
Oh, I've been waiting for a chance to see you
Waiting for so long
Oh, I've been waiting for so long…
