About New Order

New Order is a new-wave synth "pock" band formed in Manchester in 1981. It currently consists of singer, guitarist and keyboardist Bernard Sumner, drummer Stephen Morris, guitarist and keyboardist Gillian Gilbert, additional guitarist and drummer Phil Cunningham and bassist Tom Chapman, every member also produces each song. The band also used to include bassist Peter Hook. See discography and the navigation bar for further info.

New Order stemmed out of a band called Joy Division after their lead singer died. And eventually spun off into several smaller projects. Including Electronic: A band formed initially as a side-project for Sumner solo, with Johnny Marr of The Smiths joining to make a duo, Revenge: A short-lived band formed by Peter Hook and several less-popular musicians he knew, and the Other Two: A dance duo formed by the two remaining members of New Order, Gillian Gilbert and Stephen Morris. See each for respective discographies.
