Ecstasy is the seventh track of the album Power, Corruption & Lies, by New Order. The song is instrumental, with vocals sung through a vocoder and heavily reverberated. The song 586 was inspired by the bar structure of this track, which is five beats by eight beats by six beats.

The song has never been performed live.

Ecstasy has some connection to Leave Me Alone, with them both sharing the same working title of "Only the Lonely". On a more conjectural note, some of the nonsense vocables in Ecstasy sound like the words "Leave me alone...".

Lyrics

The lyrics have never been officially released, but "vocals" include a robotic voice (Likely used with the same vocoder as songs like The Beach) signing notes with syllabicate sounds, mimicking producers like Giorgio Moroder.
